Aloha from 'Ulu Kai, Hawaii!
Twenty Ulu Kai cottages nestle on a slope that rises above the wild east Puna coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Pristine and still naturally wild, the environs inspire as you enjoy this unique setting in our rural "old Hawaii.”
Come enjoy the cleanest air quality in North America as measured by a nearby meteorological weather station. Experience the magnificent night skies with almost no light pollution. (Stars! Constellations of stars!!)
Sleep to the sound of the surf and awake to the sounds of birds singing. Enjoy complementary morning coffee at Hale Aloha, the center for our guest services.
Explore hiking trails through our private 90-acre forest to take in native plants, or slip down the Red Road (coastal highway route 37) to head into Pahoa town, 20 minutes away. On Saturdays explore the food stalls at Kaimu Farmer’s Market, 5.4 miles away.
Take in the beautiful views of wild coastline where no beachfront housing is allowed, the lava fields from the 1970’s flow, or the new lava fields created with the 2018 flow…You may see whales in winter, dolphins, and of course the sunrise and mighty ocean all year ‘round. Or take a day trip to Volcano National Park….
Come for an unforgettable experience.
The cottages can accommodate up to 3 people. Email us at info@ulukaihawaii.com for details.
